Here are 2 fast easy crochet tips to help you create more beautiful crochet creations. Yes, only two crochet tips here. There are more to come!
Crochet Tip for Seaming
This tip has helped me SO much! I use this with every seam, whether a crochet wearable or a crochet home decor item, this tip is super useful and saves so much time and effort!
Did you know that you can cut the perfect, exact right length of yarn for a given seam length? It’s as easy as measuring out (see video for fastest way to do this) a yarn strand that is 3 times the length of the seam. BOOM! GAME CHANGER!
I used to eyeball it and cut off the strand and almost always it was off. Too long and I wasted yarn. Too short and I had to knot off the strand and add another strand. Uhg! So frustrating. Now I do the super quick, super easy measure (by hand), snip and done. Perfect length every time! You’re welcome! LOL.
Perfectly Clean Crochet Finishes
Again, I ask you to watch the video below to get a much better idea of what I’m saying here. This is so much easier to see than to read.
Do you ever find your completed crochet project looks less than perfect? Or maybe it looks unfinished somehow? There might be some crooked seams or gaping holes, usually due to a very open weave that affects the seaming or the underarms in the case of crochet wearables.
I use those pesky tails to clean up these situations. Before I weave in the ends I look over the crochet creation and look for areas that can use some “cleaning up”. I most often have the situation of little unwanted “holes” in the underarm seams. The weave might be too open and you end up with holey underarms. Ewwww.
Using the tails to close up these spots makes all the difference in the finished crochet piece!
You can also use the tails to straighten out or close up shoulder seams or bottom hems, any place on your crochet project that looks a bit unfinished or off. Use a crochet hook or a yarn needle and put those dreaded tails to good use!
Be sure to watch the video below for detailed explanations of each of these two crochet tips. Don’t forget to subscribe and comment! This is the best way for you to support my free crochet videos, patterns and more! Thank you SO much!
