Boho Crochet Pillow Cover

Free crochet patterns! This on-trend, boho crochet pillow cover features diamond bobbles and twisted fringe. This crochet pillow cushion also fits beautifully in any farmhouse style decor.

The twisted tassels, which are more stylish than the usual fringe, are entirely optional. Here is a version without the tassels. It looks a little more casual and great on a bed.

This pattern does not adjust for other sizes. Please use an 18 inch by 18 inch pillow.

Yarn: Red Heart Soft (NOT SUPER SAVER SOFT! That is too thick for this pattern and will result in a much larger pillow cover.) from Michael’s; 13 oz (598 yards), color Off White

NOTE: if you choose to substitute another #4 yarn, make sure it is not a thick #4.

BOBBLE: Begin a dc for 3 loops on hook; draw through two loops (two loops remain on hook); in same sp, yo for another dc; draw through two loops (3 loops remain on hook). In same sp, yo for another dc, draw through two loops (4 loops remain on hook). In same sp, yo for another dc, draw through two loops (5 loops remain on hook). Draw through all 5 loops. Ch 1 to close bobble.

Rows 3 – 71: Repeat Row 2. At end of last row tie off.

Attach Panels:

With right sides together, with yarn needle, whip stitch along 3 sides. Turn right side out, insert pillow, sew remaining side closed.

TWISTED FRINGE:

Using any object to achieve correct strand length, wind yarn around aprox 30x. Repeating as necessary to get enough 12” lengths of yarn, using 4 per tassel.

Attach fringe evenly spaced along the left and right side edges of the panel.

With 4 lengths of yarn on hook pull through a space. With hook, pick up the ends and pull through loop.

For each tassel, separate strands into two even sections. Take one section in one hand and the other section with your other hand; overlap each section over the other causing a winding effect. It should be tightly wound. Holding the bottom of the wound section tightly so it doesn’t unwind, take one strand of the same tassel and tie at the bottom of the tassel with a knot. You might need to use a smaller hook to maneuver the strand to knot it. When knotted let go of the strand and let it unwind naturally. It will remain wound to the correct tightness.

Repeat for each tassel.
