Cottagecore Crochet Ideas

Cottagecore. Is this design style/lifestyle new to you? Cottagecore has become a full-on movement and crochet can play a big part in this trend. In this post I’ll explain a bit about cottagecore or cottage style and offer some crazy cool cottagecore crochet ideas.

What is Cottagecore?

Cottagecore design is, in my opinion, very reminiscent of the shabby chic style. However, cottagecore encompasses much more than just a design style.

Cottagecore is actually an entire movement and lifestyle that is driven by a desire for a more serene life. Peaceful. Nature inspired. It’s about leaving the hustle and bustle of city life or the corporate world behind and creating a life that allows for a simpler way of life.

Cottage Style Design

Cottage style in design incorporates natural elements such as potteryware, wood crafted bowls, floral textiles, floral paintings, flower filled vases. Flowers. Flowers. And more flowers. And of course, natural textiles that include YARN.

Crochet in Cottagecore

Crochet can play a huge role in both the cottagecore lifestyle and cottagecore design.

When trying to create a home that is driven by this lifestyle, homeowners want to get back to basics. They want to make their own decor items and their own clothing. And when this is not possible, they want to purchase things that are handcrafted.

Crochet would be a very natural part of this design element as well as part of the whole lifestyle. Being able to crochet items for your home and for yourself (crochet wearables) is a perfect way to embrace the movement.
