Do you have this for a size XL or 1x
Here are instructions for larger sizes:
For larger sizes, add to beginning chain in multiples of 2, plus 3. And add additional rows for preferred length. This is designed to be wide and short. If you want a longer garment, plan to add additional rows (to the body) to your preference. You will require additional yarn.
Dimensions for Small:
For size small shown – 17 inches from shoulder to bottom. 32 inches wide.
Thank you for stopping by! Hope this helps.

Please help me. Small is 55. What do I do for XL to 1x
I’m not sure of myself to figure out how to make it bigger. How many rows
Thank you for your help

Hi Cyndi,
I’m unable to give you a specific starting chain number for an XL to 1x but I can give you parameters to work from. Since the design is already extra wide and boxy, you can decide how long you want your top to be by holding the chain to yourself wherever you want the bottom to hit your body (just below the waist or hips). Remember to allow for the wide border.
I would begin with 77 chains and hold that up to yourself from neck to waist or hips (remember to allow for the 4″ border). If the measurement is 24″ the chain should be about 24 long.
Those are just guidelines. Use whatever length of chain that you desire, working in multiples of 2 plus 3 (74 + 3=77).
Then add rows to get the width you desire following the pattern ending with a sc row. Study the photos for more guidance. Also, the Etsy pattern has more photos. The link to purchase the pattern ($3.99) is above.

About how long do you think it will take an intermediate level crocheter to make this?
Hi Kerry,
Well that’s a really difficult question to answer because it’s all so relative. It depends on how fast you crochet and how many hours a day you can devote.
Generally speaking, for an intermediate crocheter, I would say 3 days (ish). That would require a few hours per day.
Hope this helps!

How long would the starting chain be for medium? Also I’m making it for a friend so I can’t measure it on myself
The starting chain determines the length (neck to waist). For a medium I would start with a chain of 65. Then add 10 hdc rows to add width.
Hope this helps!

I am having trouble getting started. In the first row you say end with 2 sc. Then the second row you say put a hdc in the first sc, c1, hdc in the next sc, c1 continue. IF you do a hdc in the first sc, and c1, and one hdc in the second sc and c1, wouldn’t you end up with too many stitches? Or do you not count that sc below the turning chain. I purchased the pattern on line, and thought it would be more clear, but it didn’t help. what am I not seeing?
Hi Elaine,
You are entering the first hdc of Row 2 into the first truly visible sc below. Not the stitch under the turning chain.
I hope this helps. I’m glad you reached out to me with your question. Hopefully, the rest of the project goes smoothly.
Thank you,
Sylvia
