I used Hobby Lobby Yarn Bee Haute Fur yarn and Yarn Bee Gilt Eyelash, but any “eye lash” yarn or fur yarn will work. Lion Brand has some great colors. Here are some ideas:

Crochet Flip Flop Materials:

  • Flip Flops or Thong Sandals
  • Yarn (see above)
  • Crochet hook I/5.5

Tie yarn to sandal strap with a few strong knots.

Insert hook under and behind strap to hook yarn (yarn over); pull up a loop about 1″ long; yarn over and pull through the loop.

Begin working single crochets around entire strap. Be sure the loops are about 1″ long. This ensures a super fluffy look.

As you work the sc’s, scrunch the stitches back to gather close together. This also creates a fluffier look and hides the strap. When you reach the center just continue working around strap.

When you reach the end of the strap, cut yarn and tie a few knots to secure.
