Please view video tutorial at my YouTube channel, Crazy Cool Crochet for visual reference if needed.
Row 1: WIth right side of cardigan facing you, attach Main Red yarn at the bottom right corner of front bottom ribbing. Work 8 (8, 10, 12, 12) chains. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in remaining ch’s. 7 (7, 9, 11, 11) sc’s total.
Row 2: Working along the front edge of the bottom ribbing, sl st in the next 2 sp’s. Do NOT ch. Turn the row of sc’s toward you to work a sc in BLO of the 7 (7, 9, 11, 11) sc’s. At end of that row, ch 1. Turn.
Row 3: Working in BLO, sc in ea sc. 7 (7, 9, 11, 11) sc’s.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 working up the front edge, along the neck and back down the opposite front edge. Cut yarn at end of last row.
NOTE 1: As you work along the ESC color band rows, continue with the Row 2 repeat with sl st’s, entering into available spaces.
NOTE 2: You may alternate the number of slip stitches you work in the Row 2 repeat from 2 to 1 sl st’s to keep the ribbing from buckling or alternately, from becoming too wide spaced.
