I’ve just begun crocheting again after a 25 year hiatus. This pillow looks like a perfect project for me to try. Thank you!

Hello Sylvia, I see this pattern is made for a bigger pillow form, 18”x18”. Right now I only have 12”x12” and was wondering how I would condense this pattern to fit the pillow form I’m in possession of currently. Do you have any suggestions? Maybe a smaller chaining count in the beginning, would be my thought, but by what decrease in chains? Thank you for your time!

I could not figure out why the pattern was not working then I figured out 51 chain was not 3 + 2. I had to chain 52 to make it work. 52 is 3 + 2. Am I correct or missing something ?
Then after I did a couple rows I measured it and it was only 13” across. I am not crocheting tight. Am I still missing something ?
Thank you.

How many chains do you suggest for a 20 x 20″ pillow?

I made this pillow. Love the stitch but the pattern didn’t really work. It took a lot to figure out how many chain stitches to get the right width for a 17” pillow. It must have been me! I stitched the one panel i made onto a piece of cotton fabric to make a pillow case because it took me so long to get the first one done to fit. One skein made one side.

Thank you for sharing this pillow pattern. I finished one pillow and have three more to go. It was an easy stitch and the pillow worked up quickly. I didn’t make two panels. I just kept crocheting so I had one long panel and I folded that in half and slip stitched the ends together. Then I slip stitched one side, slipped in my pillow form and slip stitched the other side to close. It took one Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein (10 oz.) plus a few yards to complete my 18 x 18 pillow..
