Hello Sylvia, I see this pattern is made for a bigger pillow form, 18”x18”. Right now I only have 12”x12” and was wondering how I would condense this pattern to fit the pillow form I’m in possession of currently. Do you have any suggestions? Maybe a smaller chaining count in the beginning, would be my thought, but by what decrease in chains? Thank you for your time!
Hi Allison,
For a 12×12 pillow start with a chain of 43. Then follow the pattern.
Hope this helps!

I could not figure out why the pattern was not working then I figured out 51 chain was not 3 + 2. I had to chain 52 to make it work. 52 is 3 + 2. Am I correct or missing something ?
Then after I did a couple rows I measured it and it was only 13” across. I am not crocheting tight. Am I still missing something ?
Thank you.
Hi Merrie,
I’m sorry but I don’t understand the 3 + 2. What size (the pillow in inches) are you trying to make?

I made this pillow. Love the stitch but the pattern didn’t really work. It took a lot to figure out how many chain stitches to get the right width for a 17” pillow. It must have been me! I stitched the one panel i made onto a piece of cotton fabric to make a pillow case because it took me so long to get the first one done to fit. One skein made one side.
Hi Kyra,
Thank you for visiting and commenting.
Without knowing the details of your work, and seeing that it took a full skein to make just one side, it tells me that you might have used a different yarn than what I used here and your tension was probably much different than mine. There can be many factors that determine the outcome of a project.
I hope that after all was said and done you were able to get a usable pillow cover from this.
Best,
Sylvia

Hi. Can you tell me your gauge? I have made and ripped out this pattern so many times and can’t seem to get the right sizing ☹️ Mine looks like 19 dc is 5 inches? Thx
Hi Lenore,
Gauge: 1 waffle “block” = 1” wide and 1” tall
I hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing this pillow pattern. I finished one pillow and have three more to go. It was an easy stitch and the pillow worked up quickly. I didn’t make two panels. I just kept crocheting so I had one long panel and I folded that in half and slip stitched the ends together. Then I slip stitched one side, slipped in my pillow form and slip stitched the other side to close. It took one Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo skein (10 oz.) plus a few yards to complete my 18 x 18 pillow..
Ah, very clever to just make one long panel! I never thought of that. I”m so happy you like the patter. Thank you for letting me know.
