Crochet Wrap with Fringe

This crochet wrap features crochet bobbles and an unusual treatment for the fringe. It is best that you watch the video tutorial below to see how I worked the fringe to make it super fluffy and soft!

It is also extra long. For those of you that truly dislike fringe, you might like this version. Or maybe not. LOL. Take a look anyway. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Crochet Bobble Stitch

The stitch used here, the crochet bobble stitch, hence the name Crochet Bobble Wrap, gives this crochet wrap an extra pop of interest and texture. I deliberately did a variation of the bobble stitch so it wasn’t nearly as pronounced. I didn’t want a “bubbly” wrap. Gentle bobbles were used here.

The yarn used, the gently bobbles and the luxurious fringe treatment elevate this crochet wrap to a little bit of more sophisticated look. Make it in black or off white and it becomes a dressier crochet wrap. Perfect for date nights or weddings!

Be sure to watch the video on the YouTube platform (click on the black button on the bottom of the video)so you can support my efforts by subscribing, commenting, giving a thumbs up and watching all the way to the end. I kind of went off script during the fringe instructions and offered up a recommendation totally unrelated to crochet. A favorite little something of mine some of you might enjoy. Now you just HAVE to watch! LOL!

Row 6: Repeat Row 4.

Row 7: Repeat Row 5

Rows 2 – 7 are a set. This set of rows is the repeat for the remainder of the panel.

Continue in the repeat pattern until you complete 41 (46) Bobble rows (do not count the rows in between for ease in counting). You may adjust length as preferred.

After the last Bobble row, work 1 last row of sc’s (repeating Row 3). Cut off yarn.

FLUFFY FRINGE

Wind yarn around an object 9 inches long (such as a book), Cut strands at bottom. Repeat as necessary to get enough strands of yarn to cover the 2 short edges and one long edge. This requires 4 strands per tassel.

Take 4 strands and fold in half. Insert hook in a sp of the panel edge. Grab the strands, pull through the sp; form a large loop. Pull all strands through the loop. Pull on the strands and tug at the knot that is forming at the panel edge to secure. Space evenly.

To create the “fluffy” fringe, work with one single strand at a time (of the 4 strand tassels). Untwist ea strand to be able to insert finger (or finger nail) between the strands to separate. As you separate ea strand and let it go, it should spring back into a curly strand. Depending upon the yarn used, you should have about 3 separate strands per ea of the 4 strands (per tassel). Repeat for ea strand around all 3 edges.
