Crochet Wrap Shawl Poncho?
So easy! So versatile! This crochet wrap shawl poncho…I’m not sure what to call this design because it can be worn as any number of styles. Just throw it over your head and you’re good to go!
Extended Single Crochet
This design uses the oh-so-easy extended single crochet stitch. It is a cool variation on the single crochet. This creates a longer single crochet stitch, when combined with a chain 1 space, results in a pretty open weave.
Use a similar lightweight yarn and you have a comfy crochet top that goes from one season to the next. Wear it over a short sleeve tee, long sleeve tee or tank top. In cooler weather, pop it over a turtleneck and you are good to go! Classic, chic.

Hello, I can’t wait to get started on this pattern. It’s going to be a Christmas gift for my best friend. I know you said you didn’t know precisely the amount of yarn used. You even an approximate for the ivory but not the white. Are those similar in yards used? I’m using the Lion Brands Mandala Bonus Bundle that’s 300g which equals 1181 yards. Do you think this would be a sufficient amount to complete the project?
Hello,
Thank you so much for bringing to my attention that I had not included the amount of yarn used for the second color. I have updated the post.
The white yarn used 470 yards (approx). 1181 yards should be more than enough to complete the poncho.
Merry Christmas!
Sylvia
