Free pattern and video tutorial for this super soft, cuddly baby blanket. It is designed to be used as a stroller or car seat blanket. Of course it can be used for any general use and the colors can be changed as preferred.

Crochet hook N/9mm
To adjust for longer length add rows as needed ending with two rows of the
To adjust for wider blanket, add to beginning foundation chain as needed. No need for a multiplier.
SC= single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Yo = yarn over

You will need to use a fairly loose tension throughout.
Ch 51 with multi color yarn
Row 1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 50 sc
Row 2: Ch1, sc in 1st sp and each space across. At last sc pick up the solid color yarn: with 2 loops on hook for sc, drop the current color, yo with 2nd color to complete the sc. 50 sc. See photo above.
Row 3: ch 2, hdc in 1st sp and each sp across. 50 hdc
Row 4: ch 2, hdc in 1st sp ea sp across. At last hdc pick up the multi color yarn: with 3 loops on hook for hdc, drop the current color, yo with 2nd color to complete the hdc. See photo above. 50 hdc
Rows 5: Ch1, sc in 1st sp and each space across. 50 sc
Row 6: Repeat row 2
Rows 7: Repeat row 3
Row 8: Repeat row 4
Repeat rows 5 – 8 for pattern. Will end with 20 rows of multi-color and 18 rows of solid color. Begin and end with 2 rows of multi-color.
Tie off at last row of multi-color. Do NOT tie off the solid color yarn.
Border Scallops:
With N hook pick up the solid color yarn where it was left last (row 36). Working along the edge, pull up yarn for 1 loop on hook. Create a sc in same space.
*Skip next sp, enter 5 dc’s in next sp, skip next sp, enter sc* in next sp. Repeat from * to * around entire blanket.
Spaces will be tricky to find along the left and right edge sides. Improvise as needed. The pattern is very adaptable. Enter one scallop in each corner. You might need to enter two sc’s (not skipping
Tie off and weave in ends if needed.
