This easy crochet long vest is a great crochet beginner project! And SO versatile! This would easily make the perfect crochet BEACH COVER UP.

This takes a lightweight #3 yarn and a super simple crochet mesh stitch. There are no increases or decreases and no sleeves. Again, a great crochet beginner project.

Use a cotton yarn, as I did here, and you have a gorgeous beach cover up!
