Make this easy crochet pocket shawl lightweight perfect for summer! So versatile. Dress this up or dress this down. Wear with jeans, shorts or dresses. The yarn used results in a beautiful drape, very flowy, super comfortable crochet pocket shawl.
The crochet pocket shawl has become an absolute staple for its simplicity and versatility and uniqueness. Crocheters love to make pocket shawls! They are a fast, easy crochet gift for special occasions or no occasion.
Crochet Wedding Shawl
This design uses the crochet Iris stitch which is super easy to work (2 dc, ch 1, 2dc). When combined with a lightweight yarn in white and skip the pockets (which make it too casual), add long fringe on the short ends, you have a gorgeous crochet wedding shawl. The stitch looks elegant, but is not distracting. This crochet wedding shawl is the perfect little cover up that goes with any wedding dress style.
Crochet Bridesmaid Gift
The same crochet wedding shawl is also a perfect crochet bridesmaid gift! This design works up fast so the bride, or mother of the bride, can make up several in coordinating colors with the bridesmaids dresses. Again, do not add pockets, do add fringe. Perfect!

Follow pattern as for the main panel. Work for 12 Iris stitch rows.
ATTACH POCKETS TO PANEL
With right side of panel facing up and right side of pocket facing up, position pocket about 1.5 inches from the bottom and evenly positioned from both edges.
Using a yarn needle and length of yarn, attach using a whip stitch, beginning at top left of pocket and stitching down the left edge of pocket, along the bottom and up the right edge of pocket. Tie off yarn.
Weave in ends.
Enjoy!
This pattern would also work beautifully in white as a wedding shawl or as a bridesmaids shawl using coordinating dress colors. I would suggest not using the pocket and instead adding long fringe to the short ends.
