Two identical panels using only half double crochet make this a fast and easy crochet project to make for yourself or a friend or loved one. The skipped stitches give a hint of a peek a boo effect and create an interesting V shape in the front and back.

Directions are for size Small (Women/Teens)
For larger sizes use a multiple of 2 plus 1.
Suggested:
Medium use a starting chain of 79 (78 +1)
Large 89
XL 99
You will need to determine the 1st center blank space and work an equal number of hdc’s on each side of the row.
To add length, add as many of ending HDC rows as needed.

Yarn Needle
PANELS (make 2 identical)
Ch 69
Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 32 ch’s for 33 hdc’s; ch 1; sk next ch; hdc in ea remaining ch for 33 hdc. 67 total stitches. (You will have 67 stitches for ea row for entire panel.) Ch 2. Turn
Row 2: hdc in 1st st (inserting hook under the two strand ch that forms at the top of row below) and in the next 31 st’s for 32 hdc; ch 1; hdc in the blank sp; ch 1; sk the next st; hdc in remaining 32 st’s. Ch 2. Turn
Row 3: hdc in 1st st and in the next 30 st’s for 31 hdc; ch 1; hdc in blank sp; hdc in next st; hdc in blank sp; ch 1; sk next st; hdc in remaining 31 st’s. Ch 2. Turn
Row 4: hdc in 1st st and in the next 29 st’s for 30 hdc; ch 1; hdc in blank sp; hdc in next 3 st; hdc in sp; ch 1; sk next st; hdc in remaining 30 st’s. Ch 2. Turn [Yellow example is shown to provide a clearer view of the stitches for comparison.]
Row 5 – 32: continue in pattern entering 1 less hdc on ea side of row and entering an additional 2 hdc in the center as follows: after completing the beginning hdc’s of the row; ch 1; hdc in sp; hdc in remaining center st’s; hdc in sp; ch 1; sk next st; hdc in remaining st’s. You will have an odd number of hdc’s in the center (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc). You are forming a large V in the center of the panel.
Row 32 will have 2 hdc’s on ea end and 61 hdc in center.
Row 33 – 40: hdc in ea st. 67 hdc total for ea row. At end of row 40, tie off.
ATTACH PANELS
Place panels right sides together, wrong side facing you. Using yarn needle and length of yarn, use a whip stitch to attach at shoulders for approximately 5 inches on ea side.
Using same method attach at sides leaving an armhole opening from 7 – 8 inches long.
CAP SLEEVES
Row 1: With right side facing you, insert hook at bottom of armhole. Ch 2. hdc evenly spaced around armhole. At end of row, sl st to top of beginning ch 2.
Row 2: hdc in same sp; hdc in ea st joining with a sl st at end of row.
