#4 weight Yarn Bee Soft Secret (Hobby Lobby); 25 ounces/1275 yards/Color Hot Pink

Yarn needle
Measuring Tape

Abbreviations
Ch = chain
BLO = back loop only
Sc = single crochet
Sk = skip
Sl St = slip stitch
Sp = space
St = stitch
NOTE: photos appear above the corresponding row.
FRONT PANEL
Ch 123 (133, 143, 153, 163) (med, lg, xl, 1-2 x)
Row 1: For this row only, work in back loop (3rd loop) of ch’s. sc in 2nd ch from hook and ea ch across. 122 sc’s (132, 142, 152, 162). Ch 1 Turn
Row 2: sc in 1st sp and ea sp across. 122 sc’s (132, 142, 152, 162) Ch 1 Turn
Repeat Row 2 for your preferred length.
Size Small recommend 12 inch length. (Adjust as needed for international measurements.)
To accommodate larger bust add rows as needed.
Suggested:
Medium: 14 inches
Large: 16 inches
X Large: 17 inches
1X – 2X: 20 inches
Adjust these measurements as needed. Chest sizes vary considerably within the same size. Factor this into your lengths.
At end of last row (end on the right side of work), do NOT cut off yarn. Ch 1.
Turn panel sideways to add a border of 1 row of sc. Work 1 sc into approximately ea sp, or as evenly as possible. At end of row cut off yarn leaving 6 inch tail to weave in.
Attach yarn on opposite side, bottom of panel (right side of work facing you). Work 1 row of sc. Tie off yarn at end of row leaving 6 inch tail to weave in.
BACK PANEL
Repeat instructions as for Front Panel adding rows for length measured in inches (adjust as needed for international measurements).
The suggested lengths allow for a 1 – 2 inch stretch. Adjust as needed per yarn used and your preferred length.
Suggested:
Small: 27 inches
Medium: 29 inches
Large: 33 inches
XLarge: 37 inches
1X – 2X: 43 inches
SEAM SHOULDERS
Place front panel on top of back panel, wrong sides facing you.
Determine center of panel for neck opening allowance.
Size Small – Medium: allow for 9 inch opening.
Size Large – XLarge: allow for 10 inch opening.
Size 1X – 2X – allow for 12 inch opening
Place stitch markers at each edge of neck opening.
Attach yarn at shoulder edge with a chain. Sl st in ea sp to the st marker. After last sl st, ch 2 (to create a knot). Leaving a 6 inch tail, cut off yarn. Pull tail tightly, squeezing down the ch’s to form a tight knot. Weave remaining tail through single strands of shoulder seam leaving 3 inches of tail to create a final knot.
NOTE: It is important that this seam be tied off very securely to avoid unraveling of seam.
NOTE 2: For opposite shoulder seam do NOT cut off the yarn when you reach the st marker.
Opposite Shoulder Seam: Working from shoulder edge toward neck opening, sl st seam as for first shoulder. Do NOT cut off yarn when you reach the st marker. After last sl st, ch 1. Continue with neck border.
NECK BORDER
Row 1: Still working on wrong side of work, working from the last ch created at the last shoulder seam, sc into ea sp of neck opening. As you reach the shoulder seams, enter a sc into the seam. At end of row, sl st into the first sc of row. Ch 1. Turn.
Row 2 – 5: sc in ea sp. At end of ea row ch 1. Turn. At end of row 5 cut off yarn leaving tail to weave in.
OPTIONAL: if you would like to very slightly tighten up the neck opening, on row 4 and row 5, sk a sp where the shoulder seams are.
SEAM SIDES
To create “arm holes”, with wrong sides facing you, place st marker 3 inches from bottom of front panel. Using yarn needle and length of yarn, use a whip st to create a 3 inch side seam.
For larger sizes you may create a 4 or 5 inch seam as appropriate. This design calls for very wide armholes.
